This program is designed to prepare persons for initial employment or upgrade or retrain persons who are/or have been employed as a patient care assistant. The program prepares persons for employment at the aide/orderly level with hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, and other health care centers and as an auxiliary worker in nursing service who is trained to assist and work under the direction of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses. Enrollments are processed only at designated times based on waiting lists. TB Test and FDLE Level 2 Background Check required before start of class. This program is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing and will prepare you to take the State Certification exam.
