Course Description

The Early Childhood Education program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for entry level and career advancement in the field of early childhood education.

Hands-on experience is gained through assignments in the Pumpkin Patch Laboratory School and the HOPE Infant/Toddler Program located on the campus.

Full completers will receive the Early Childhood Education Professional Certificate (ECPC) and fulfill competencies for the National CDA.

Local, state, and federal regulations and standards are increasing the demand for trained and experienced early childhood professionals to work in private or public facilities serving children. Job opportunities exist as child care providers, family child care home operators, pre-school teachers and assistants, and nannies.

Completion of this course and the ECPC allows articulation to any community college in Florida equal to 9 credit hours towards in an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Edison College accepts this course as 12 credit hours.
