Course Description
The State of Florida Department of Education recently changed the frameworks for the drafting program so that students are now exposed to a variety of drafting content rather than specializing in just one area of study. The program now includes an overview of Architectural, Civil, Mechanical and Structural drafting.
Students have individualized computer stations using the most current AutoCad software.
The work in this class will include updating existing drawings, completing sets of plans from sketches prepared by the Architect/Builder, and creating your own drawings.
Students receive a state of Florida Adult Certificate of Completion upon graduation. Students have the option of completing eight industry certifications: AutoCad Associate Certificate, AutoCad Professional Certificate, Revit Architectural Associate Certificate, Revit Architectural Professional Certificate, Inventor Associate Certificate, Inventor Professional Certificate, Civil 3D Associate Certificate and Civil 3D Professional Certificate.
Students will then either move on to employment in the field or may continue their education at a community college working towards an Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design through articulation to any community college in Florida receiving 12 credit hours for their completion of the drafting program at Charlotte Technical Center.
