High school juniors and seniors are able to enroll in our Dental Laboratory Assisting program and complete the program in two years attending CTC part-time each year. The Dental Laboratory Assisting program will provide classroom theory and practical application in tasks related to dental impressions, fabrication of provisional appliances, custom impression trays, as well as safety and infection control procedures in the dental laboratory. A sequence of courses in this program contain academic standards and related technical knowledge as well as skills needed to prepare students for employment as dental laboratory assistants, dental laboratory technician apprenticeship or to further education in the dental field. This program will require students to participate in off-campus clinicals the second year of enrollment and students will be responsible for their own transportation. Courses in this program may be used to qualify a student for Florida’s Gold Seal Vocational Scholarship, providing all other eligibility requirements are met.
